Westside Marine Launches New Web
Site
4/1/03: Port Townsend, WA:
Westside Marine this week launched a new website for its core
business, focusing on services, products, and information for the
Western Washington recreational marine industry. Randy Powers,
president of Westside Marine said "this website re-launch has
been in design for some time, but we have held off on its development
and launch until we knew what customers really wanted to
see". Powers added "We feel that by focusing on our service as a
cornerstone to the business, the products and information would be
added benefits. We don't expect to sell anything online, but we do
expect to provide valuable information to customers about our services
and help them make informed decisions about products they are
considering buying through us."
The Website design was
done mostly in-house using some external resources, and utilized
several utilities freely available on the web for site design, mostly
javascript and free images. Powers added "There is a lot out
there available on the internet to help build websites, most of it
free or very inexpensive to obtain. You simply don't have to know a
lot about HTML or scripting to be able to put together a good website
these days."
