WESTSIDE MARINE - EXPERIENCED OUTBOARD TECHNICIAN
Westside Marine, a long-standing reputable boat and marine services shop in Port Townsend, is seeking a well-versed outboard mechanic and technician. This position will focus on Outboard service and electrical installation and trailer service. Must be willing to learn and take on additional tasks as needed. Will train (and facilitate necessary certification) in some areas for the right candidate but will need experience (3+ years) in one or more disciplines.

Qualifications:

Mechanical aptitude (Marine or automotive mechanical repair)

Self-motivated, fast learner and able to work with minimal supervision

Electrical & electronics experience

Capable of problem solving and decision making

Familiar with mechanical repair tools

Own set of tools required
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Work is conducted in a fast-paced marine service shop with moderate to loud noise levels. The technician will be required to be in production areas in the shop, yard, onboard vessels, and occasionally go to off-site projects. Applicant must be able to frequently bend, squat, crawl, twist, and may be required to lift up to 50 pounds.
Health insurance and matching IRA program. Competitive compensation package and DOE.
Pay Range: $28-32/hr DOE

SEA MARINE - MASTER MARINE TECHNICIAN
This position requires a well-rounded individual with knowledge and experience in a variety of marine skills. Any electrical background a plus, particularly with ABYC credentials. Must be willing to learn and take on additional tasks as needed. Will train (and facilitate necessary certification) in some areas for the right candidate but will need experience (3+ years) in one or more disciplines. This position is for the most experienced marine technicians. Seeking an individual who has experience and competency in at least 3 to 4 of the following areas.

Duties may include:

Diesel/gas/outboard repair and vessel maintenance

Systems maintenance
-
DC/AC electrical work
-
NMEA electronics installation and repair
-
Systems installation and troubleshooting. (Refrigeration, heating, plumbing, pumps, etc)

Welding & Fabrication
-
Fiberglass repair and fabrication

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Work is conducted in a fast-paced boatyard with moderate to loud noise levels. The technician will be required to be in production areas in the yard, onboard vessels, and occasionally go to off-site projects. Applicant must be able to: walk to and from job sites, climb inclined stairways and vertical ladders, enter confined areas and tanks, work at heights. Applicant must be able to frequently bend, squat, crawl, twist, and may be required to lift up to 50 pounds. May be required to work more than 8-hour shifts occasionally.
